Jollof Beats

Privacy

Jollof Beats is a publication — editorials, stories, and music — with member accounts for readers who want to take part. This page says, in plain language, what information the site holds and what happens to it.

Signing in

Signing in is done through Google. When you sign in, Google tells us your name, your email address, and your profile photo. We store your display name and photo so they can appear alongside your activity on the site. We never see or store your Google password.

Signing in is optional. The whole site — every editorial, story, and film — can be read and watched without an account.

What you do here

If you react to a piece, follow a section, or leave a comment, that activity is stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) so the features work. Comments are public: they appear on the page with your display name and photo, and anyone who visits the page can read them.

Comments are moderated. A comment that breaks the discussion policy — abuse, attacks on groups, spam, or dropped links — may be held or removed.

What we never do

We run no advertising and no third-party tracking, and we never sell personal information. There is nothing else to say here, because there is nothing else happening.

Deleting your account

To have your account and the data attached to it deleted, contact us through the About page of the Jollof Beats YouTube channel and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page.
